What a weird year. This trip was originally for my 41st birthday, but a wild fire started in the canyon right behind our house so we had to cancel it. Fast forward a few weeks and we were able to cash in that raincheck…our rad friend let us borrow his Sprinter van for a quick jaunt down to Escalante, UT. But the real reason for the trip was honestly just to eat at Hell’s Backbone Grill before they close for the season. Side note: this was like the most perfect trip. I love Utah in the fall.
Mary's Lake
So I can't even believe I live here sometimes. On this Sunday Funday Corigan, Jess, and I went up Big Cottonwood Canyon, saw a lone moose, drove through a sweet thunderstorm, and picked wildflower bouquets at Mary's Lake, a super short 2 mile hike at Brighton Ski Resort. And all of this like 15 minutes from the house. For the win.
